Notes about Fungus Fest

- Greeters were wearing Boy Scout-like uniforms with mushroom patches on them.
- Most booth runners were over 50, some with Amish-style beards.
- Was not so much a “fest” as a “fair.” An 8th grade science fair, to be precise - where everyone’s project is about mushrooms.
- There was a one-hour mushroom slide show. (My boyfriend had no interest in seeing it, which is why he still has a girlfriend.)
- In the mycological association’s letter to new members, (I’m not one, by the way) the president boasts that the association will provide a place for you to make new friends who won’t think you’re crazy.
